In 1998, CWS Svay Rieng selected a capacity building partner out of seven staff members to participate in five CWS training sessions on community development, accountability, and project writing skills according to each skill being trained.

​In 1999-2002, CWS Svay Rieng provided micro-funding for the development of short-term pilot projects, and some of the programs were: Community Development Organization (PRA) Ability to represent the team from managing the team list as well as providing activities such as: We gave out vegetable seeds, fish, chickens to 1,460 families, supported 35 self-help groups with 630 members, 25 village veterinarians with a certificate from the Ministry of Agriculture, built 50 drainage canals, planted 13 hectares of community trees in total 295,000 trees.

Constructed 236 pump wells with the participation of 236 families, 25 rice banks, 575 families were supported by CWS, which has 11 target villages, 2 communes located in RomduolDistrict and Svay Chrum District.
